Update: Portuguese and French Visa Centers Open Abroad

France and Portugal have reopened several of their visa centers abroad, according to two separate VFS Global press releases published on 27 and 28 August 2020.

Please bear in mind that although the facilities listed below are either opening or are already open, they may have restricted hours and might not be operating at regular capacity for normal operations.

The Portuguese visa centers in the cities listed below are operating at some capacity currently:

  • London, UK, has resumed operations.
  • Bengaluru, Chennai, and New Delhi, India have resumed limited category long stay visa applications.
  • Luanda, Angola is now accepting limited category long stay visa applications.
  • Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo, Brazil are now accepting limited category long stay visa applications.
  • Johannesburg, Durban, and Pretoria, South Africa are now accepting limited category long stay visa applications.
  • Rabat, Morocco is now accepting limited category long stay visa applications.
  • Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria are now accepting limited category long stay visa applications.
  • Maputo, Mozambique is now accepting limited category long stay visa applications.
  • Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia are now accepting limited category long stay visa applications.
  • Manchester and Edinburg, UK are now accepting limited short stay visa category applications.
  • Al Khobar, Riyadh, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia are now accepting limited short stay visa category applications.
  • San Salvador, Brazil is now accepting visa category C, D, and E applications.
  • Alexandria and Cairo, Egypt have resumed regular operations.
  • New York and Washington DC, USA are now accepting limited category long and short stay visa applications.

The French visa centers in the cities listed below are operating at some capacity currently:

  • Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, Chicago, and New York, USA have resumed accepting limited category long and/or short stay visa applications. The center is Washington DC has resumed passport collection services for four sub visa categories.
  • South Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, and Hyderabad, India has resumed accepting student (D) long-stay visa applications.
  • Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, can Vancouver, Canada have resumed regular operations.
  • Izmir and Istanbul, Turkey has resumed accepting limited category long and short stay visa applications.
  • Luanda, Angola has resumed operations. 
  • St. Petersburg, Russia has resumed limited long stay category applications.
  • Kingston, Jamaica has resumed accepting limited long and short stay visa applications.
  • Al Khobar, Riyadh, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia have resumed accepting limited long and short stay visa applications.
  • Dakar, Senegal has resumed accepting long stay visa applications.
  • Singapore has resumed accepting long stay visa applications.
  • Tehran, Iran has resumed accepting long stay visa applications.
  • Suva, Fiji has resumed accepting long stay visa applications.
  • Algiers, Algeria has resumed accepting long stay visa applications.
  • Colombo, Sri Lanka has resumed accepting long stay visa applications.
  • Dubai and Abu Dhabi have resumed accepting short stay business and medical applications, and long stay student, work, and residence permit visa applications.
