Italy Resumes Some Visa Operations in India

Italian authorities have now begun to allow visa operations abroad in India resume after several months of ceased activity, according to several press releases published by VFS Global.

The following visa application facilities abroad are included in these lists:

  • Bangalore, India reopens for submission of Re-Entry, Seafarers, Family Reunion, and Employment Visa requests from 27 July 2020.
  • Chennai, India reopens for submission of Re-Entry, Seafarers, Family Reunion, and Employment Visa requests from 20 July 2020.
  • Cochin, India reopens for submission of Re-Entry, Seafarers, Family Reunion, and Employment Visa requests from 20 July 2020.
  • Hyderabad, India reopens for submission of Re-Entry, Seafarers, Family Reunion, and Employment Visa requests from 20 July 2020.
  • Mumbai, India reopens for submission of Re-Entry, Seafarers, Family Reunion, and Employment Visa requests from 15 July 2020.

Applicants coming to apply for visas to Italy will be required to wear face masks and gloves. If an applicant is showing symptoms of COVID-19, such as shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, cough, or fever higher than 38 degrees Celsius, they will be required to reschedule at a more suitable date after recovery.

VFS Global is a private company to which Italy has outsourced some of their visa services abroad to.

It is still unknown when all visa facilitation services will be up-and-running once again.
